Hey all! I pulled out some of my Tim Holtz Palette patterned papers that y’all have been asking me to use lol and made 4 holiday cards with some of them:

PEACE JOY LOVE HOLIDAY CARDS:

How I made them:

I die cut patterned papers from the 3 different Palette collections (Red, Teal and Charcoal), 1 from Red, 1 from Teal and 2 from Charcoal using the Peace Joy Love wafer die. I then die cut 4 panels of Neenah 80lb cardstock with the same wafer die. Copy paper (this is important – I wanted something thin) was cut down to slightly smaller than A2 panels, and then I layered the white cardstock outline of the Peace Joy Love die cut onto the copy paper with Craft Tacky Glue.

I then pieced in all the parts to the letters from the patterned papers and glued them to the copy paper backing with Craft Tacky Glue. I was able to make 4 card fronts with all the pieces of the patterned paper.

I pulled out one of my oldie-but-goodie faves: the Snowflake Burst Pinpoint Plate and ran the pieced-together card fronts through my die cut machine with the plate which pierced all the snowflake patterns and made them look quilted. **TIP: Make sure the glue is dry before running the panel through with the piercing plate. Otherwise it could all tear apart when you remove the cardstock from the plate. This is why I used copy paper to back it all as well as it’s thin and won’t add too much bulk to the panel before using the piercing plate. If you just wanted to paper-piece the elements and not add a piercing/stitching detail with a wafer die you could do all of that directly on your card base or a standard piece of cardstock. Of course black and white splatter was added to them as well.

The sentiment strips are from the Vintage Christmas EZ Strips pack, and were die cut with the EZ Strips Rounded Rectangle wafer dies. The white strips were colored with a G94 Copic marker, and were adhered to the card front with bits of Big Momma Foam Tape.

On the insides of the cards I stamped sentiments from CZ Design’s Holiday Typewriter set (another oldie-but-goodie fave that I’ve used so many times over the years) using Nocturne ink and SSS Artichoke Pawsitively Saturated Ink. I finished off the cards with some Black Licorice Heart Sprinkles and that was it!

  1. Great work, Amy! I love these. They remind me of the ones I made that were very similar last Xmas. I ended up making them into bookmarks b/c I ran out of time to turn all the card fronts into cards. I used GKD cover plate die that is very similar, just a different font. Yours look amazing!
